Capturing the scale, might and intent of this metal recycler's operations and social responsibilities helped sharpen my skills
Client: European Metal Recycling Ltd.
When: 2015 - 2019
With easy access to most areas of EMR's operations and with training to ensure my safety in what can be a dangerous environment, I visited many sites over the years on assignment to capture everything from machinery to people.
To support EMR's charitable campaigns and social responsibilities, I sometimes took photos of their achievements in raising money and awareness for local causes.
Fire Safety Training
Fire safety training is critical to EMR's ongoing operations to reduce the risk of fire and to improve the understanding of what to do in the event of.
By offering its site on the docks in Bootle as a training ground for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, EMR has taken great steps towards being a responsible metal recycler for the local and wider community.
I was always facinated by the many different types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals that the company recycled, seeing beauty in form, shape and colour. Product shots always came in handy when designing promotional material and could often be used for inspiration when making pictograms in Illustrator, or looking for the right supporting colour to represent certain metallic items.
